Why won't capitalists mention Rosa Luxemburg?

Is it because she disproves all their ideas about communism and socialism?

Is it because she believes in total freedom of speech when socialism is supposed to oppose free speech?

Is it because she believed in Trade Unions as a vehical for revolution when socialists are supposed to not like Unions?

Is it because she was a pacafist and socialists are all supposed to be violent?

Infact the only people i've ever seen quote her are Free Speech online campaigners.

The only thing capitalists can do is write websites like "Jew Watch" to say she was bad because she was Jewish.

P.S. A slightly edited version of this can be said about Eugene Debs.

Yes very true Mosketto... and relating it to Debs... Many people would soon like to forget that the American Socialist movement propelled by people like Daniel De Leon (Socialist Labor Party http://www.slp.org) and Eugene V. Debs (Socialist Party usahttp://www.sp-usa.org) was spawn from the American labor movement. Many of the great leaders in those days where labor leaders first... and supported free speach and opposed war.

Debs was most famous for that... as he was sentanced to ten years for speaking out against WWI

Just like Rosa Luxemburg. She was sent to prison for her opposition to nationalism and refusing to support the first world war.

And she actually considered herself a communist rather than a socialist which would look even worse to anti-communists.

We have to let the ideas of Debs and Luxemburg to be known then maybe we can get rid of the Stalin image.

Yes very true.. another person who you can mention to people... this one may make some of those right wingers fall off their chair...

Helen Keller... She was famous because she was a deaf dumb and blind girl who learned how to interact with the world... but... what is mostly ignored... at least in US history classes... is the fact that she lived to be an old woman... and devoted her life to socialism.

I don't know if she ever called herself a communist... I do know she supported the Russian Revolution. *They have some letters she wrote (via a friend of course) in the Marxist archive...
