    Default Capitalism and Communism

These two are "opposing" ideologies but exist in every single society through out the entire human history. Every society to ever exist is a mix of both. How can we make sense of that? How do we ever not have both?

We do not live with a 'mix' of these ideologies at all but rather we live in a society with a capitalist economy that can adopt slightly differing characteristics depending on various factors.
Strengthened and hardened in the revolutionary melting-pots of the great industrial centres, toughened by repeated economic struggles, victim of crisis and unemployment, witness of the blatant injustice which allows the same cities to contain the palaces of the parasites and the slums of the workers, the proletariat is certainly the revolutionary class, and consequently the only class whose violence can put an end to the social war. - Victor Serge

You can't make sense of something that's not true, so you don't make sense of it.

Capitalism has only existed as a system for about 400 years. There might have been some buying and selling of labour in previous systems but that doesn't make them 'capitalism', any more than the fact that a relatively small number of people now are enslaved means that we're living in Ancient Rome.

Communism - in the form of primitive communism - existed as the only form of human economy for the entirety of human society (either the c.250,000 years of homo sapiens, or the 3.2million years of 'human-like behaviour' of our homonin ancestors) until about 7,000 years ago when class societies started to arise. It has continued to exist in some places until the present. But these are communist societies that are being swallowed up. Capitalism grows and spreads 'inevitably' (it is not actually inevitable that it spreads, because that ultimately is down to human action, but it inevitably tries to spread, because that is the nature of capitalist dynamics).

We live in a worldwide capitalist society. There is no 'mixture' of communism in capitalism.
