Participatory Socialist International?
Critique of Michael Albert and Hugo Chavez on Internationals
Participatory Socialist International?: Critique of Michael Albert and Hugo Chavez on Internationals
CARACAS – In late November 2009, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez addressed the International Encounter of Left Parties by making an announcement: that “it is time to convene the Fifth International, and I dare to make the call, which I think is a necessity. I dare to request that we create my proposal.” Agreeing to the proposed establishment of “the Fifth Socialist International as a space for socialist-oriented parties, movements and currents in which we can harmonize a common strategy for the struggle against imperialism, the overthrow of capitalism by socialism” were, among others: the ruling Movement Towards Socialism in Bolivia, the Proposal for an Alternative Society in Chile, and the recently strengthened Socialist Alliance in Australia (resulting from the revolutionary liquidation of the Democratic Socialist Perspective). Even the ruling party, the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), affirmed this resolution in its First Extraordinary Congress held...

Anti-Imperialism: Nationalist and Internationalist Paths
"Stalin indeed looked forward to profiting from an Anglo-German conflict. In a letter of September 7 to Georgii Dimitrov, the head of the Communist International, Stalin wrote that 'we are not against' a war between capitalist states in which they 'would weaken each other.' Hitler, nolens volens , was on his way to destroying the capitalist system. Poland, Stalin added, was just another 'bourgeois fascist state,' and 'What would be wrong if in the destruction of Poland we spread the socialist system to new inhabitants in new territories?'"
(Alfred Erich Senn. Lithuania 1940: Revolution from Above. New York: 2007. p. 21.)
"We do not only recognize, but we also give full support to the principle of self-determination, wherever it is directed against feudal, capitalist and imperialist states. But wherever the fiction of self-determination, in the hands of the bourgeoisie, becomes a weapon directed against the proletarian revolution, we have no occasion to treat this fiction differently from the other 'principles' of democracy perverted by capitalism."

What is Communism?
What is Communism?
Without a doubt, you’ve probably heard about communism. And, also without a doubt, you’ve probably heard all sorts of horror stories about it — from your teachers, from the media, from politicians, even from your church pastor or preacher.
They tried to scare you. They want to keep you from finding out for yourself. If you asked one authority figure for a second opinion, they usually told you to ask another authority figure. And if that didn’t satisfy you, then they told you to read the history books they wrote for you.
Do you see a pattern here? The one person they will never tell you to talk to, however, is a communist. Why? Because a communist might go “off script” and tell you something they don’t want you to hear.
So, what is communism? Well, there is communism, the theory, and communism, the society. Let’s first deal with communism, the society.

Is Civil disobedience justified in a democratic society?
“Civil disobedience is never justified in a democracy”
Discuss
In this essay we will aim to come to a conclusion on whether civil disobedience can be justified under a system of rule that draws its authority from the democratic will of the people. We will also discuss what civil disobedience is and is not to different scholars and try to make our own judgement from the evidence presented from these sources. Before discussing civil disobedience, we must first address the term ‘Democracy’: in what kind of democracy would acts of civil disobedience be justified? Let us, for the purpose of this essay, focus on modern representative democracy for the most part, as this is both relevant to our society and as is used as the focus by many of our scholars (extraneous constrains would not allow for a discussion of democracy in this essay). What counts as ‘civil disobedience’ rather than as crime, rioting, etc, is also a hotly debated matter and in the course of the essay we shall cover these views.
Civil Disobedience is “the knowing and deliberate violation of...

Earth Liberation Front
Dont plagirize this
If one wishes to join an environmental organization you don’t have to look far, but if one wants to find something different, they will find the Earth Liberation Front. The Earth Liberation front, or E.L.F. is an environmental group in which supporters use less than civil ways, to get the job done. E.L.F. was originally made from an offshoot of Earth First!, which is much like E.L.F. but the difference between them lie in what means are used to achieve their goal. So the radical members of Earth First! came together and created E.L.F. which concentrated more on less than legal means to achieve their goals. E.L.F. took over where Earth First! left off. There are no official members of E.L.F., and it really isn’t an organized group. Since the supporters commit illegal acts such as arson, they find it better for it just to be movement, because if something was done in their name, other members could be charged, or ultimately the group itself. It’s more of a guideline for action, as it says on earthliberationfront.com, “In the past …individuals...
