Damn, I'm glad you inspired my to pick up "This is Not A Program" again - it's been almost a year. I'd forgotten how heavily it quotes, well, basically the state (e.g. generals, etc.) describing in disturbing detail the evolution of the state toward its current totalitarian form. Eeeghggkgfgkgdfhj tho, rite?
What's good! Just catching up on who's been banned and so on, same thing I always do when I check in
Oh no, I get that. A lot of people probably get what I'm saying there, actually, assuming that they love the ocean. It's just really exciting (IMO) to get out there in a boat, even if it's rough out (hell, especially if it's rough out!)
I've often thought about getting some sort of maritime-related tattoo...I was thinking of getting a tattoo of a sockeye salmon or something for a while (sockeye being the most valuable species of salmon...the ones which are bright crimson red when they go to spawn) Most of my life has been dedicated to finding those fuckers.
Lately I've thought that if I'm going to get a tattoo, it should be a "homemade" one done by a Russian criminal or something. And, since I live in Alaska, I have known a few Russian criminals in my life! (although I don't think any of them do tattoos, bummer)
The last post you thanked of mine was me telling someone I didn't understand what they were saying. Ha I take it you agreed?
The posts of mine you decide to thank are so random.
What was your former username?
There's nothing wrong with working out itself. Exercise is necessary for health. It's the American habit of driving a gas-guzzling SUV five miles to a commercial gym that strikes me as a vote for capitalism. I will also admit that not everyone posting on the workout thread does that; there's college gyms or the great outdoors. But it makes a good rhetorical example of temptations afflicting our movements.
I know. My friend is in HVAC and they're not liking it so far. Mostly because they're stuck just under a self-sufficient wage right now. I've been looking for ways out of school right now. Recently I've been applying to local universities, colleges, and community colleges. Not as a student, lol, but as maintenance and janitorial staff. They start off on a wage good enough to move out. Although it is union, so there are the fees and dues. It's still okay for someone to live alone off I think. I'm just not liking the situation these days.
I was helping a customer unload a tool the other day. Then they told me about getting a union apprenticeship lol. Told me to apply, which I might do, but I don't expect that to go anywhere. You gotta know people to get in. The only new thing I heard from that guy is that they have an elevator trade. With union apprenticeship.
