I gave "Yes, All Cops" a listen (found the thread). I wasn't blown away, seems like your average anti-establishment political quasi-satire with some anarcho-punk elements. It's not a bad song though.

to be fair I think some of the more legit crust punks and other travelers picked it up from those original sources and have spread it around a bit but here in this city the rich kids just walk out of their 900/m apartments to the corner and busk
Aside from the Lenin fetishism, I find their analyses really refreshing and interesting. Funny you mention their seeming aloofness; I did send them an email asking if they knew of any people in the UK that I could get into contact with. I received an email almost three months after sending mine telling me bluntly that they didn't.
Anyway, I just wondered what your take on them was since you're living in Canada and usually have nice opinions on things.
