I'll try not be lazy in the thread. Refreshing to hear some reason around this joint.
Holy shit, your post in the DoTP thread is fucking awesome.
Thanks for the clarification robbo...
Yes . Although to be fair to Engels his view of the Labour Aristocracy was not the same as Lenin's . He talked of the workers of England feasting on the spoils of Englands global monopoly or something like that. The mechanism that allowed them to do that was different than what was offered by Lenin with the latter's idea of the LA being bribed out the "superprofits" created by the super exploitation of the colonies in his day
labour aristocracy post a valuable contribution to the debate. I hope others read it and think on. We have been hamstrung for 100yrs or more with the notion. I believe Engels had a hand in it...but not Marx. Lenin and others certainly. A day in the stocks for them.....
It seems the website has been hacked. You get redirected to an 'adult' website.
Arminius tells me that the plan had been to "migrate everything over to the newer Wordpress site then switch the DNS to worldincommon.org". Im not sufficiently computer savvy to say whether the contents of the site can be salvaged. If not it would be a huge pity becuase it had a great database. Fortunately I transferred some of the links to the "For Genuine Free Access Communism" group on Revleft. We shall see what happens
FYI: This came up when I tried to access the World In Common site:
Hi RR Yes the website has been inactive for a while but is due to be overhauled. Best bet is to contact Arminiush via the main forum http://groups.yahoo.com/group/worldincommon/ or the internal forum at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/commoner/ There is also the "spaces of hope" blog cheers R
How can i join World in Common? It's website seems to be inactive
Oh yeah and this is a load of nonsense too - "Marx did not believe that a state would not exist in lower-phase, he believed that a bourgeois state would not exist. In lower-stage communism/socialism, the state loses it's political functions and becomes an economic coordination mechanism". A state that loses its political function as instrument of class rule is no longer a state and in communism there are no classes and therefore there can be no state in Marxian terms. Where do you get these nonsensical ideas of yours from BTW?
