In medicine, to obtain "informed consent" from a (soon to be) surgical patient means that one explains what is about to happen to the patient and obtain consent. The patient is "informed" because he knows what is to happen before, during, and after the surgery (amongst other possible things related to the situation).

"Informed [person-term]" = someone who knows of something or other, or is knowledgeable of this or that.

For the record, this post and the last (and probably future ones) are literal transcriptions of notes I scribbled and things that I thought of afterwards. This is the reason why they look so shitty, rambling, and nonsensical. Any errors are to be attributed to being in a permanent state of being unfinished.

"to be informative" - adjective
"informant" - noun, concrete
