So am I. I used to be in SDS but that fizzled out real quick, I don't care too much for the Brezhnevite/activist scene in our town

The result is that I support private property rights, I oppose the state, and I prefer a natural local self-determinist approach to governance. If a monarchy results, so be it. If a democracy results, so be it. Although my observations regarding democracy have led me personally to prefer monarchy, since I oppose the State in all its personifications, anarcho-monarchism is my chosen moniker.

I can explain in much greater detail if you like, how exactly I came to the decision that monarchy trumps democracy and how anarchy trumps them both. But remember, I do so from an ancap perspective so... if that is offensive, please don't get too angry!

Democracy leaves monopoly coercive power complete and unhampered. Whereas before, in a monarchy, the monopoly power was bestowed upon a single man and thus polarized the non-Royalty and non-Nobility populations into resistance against monarchical domination (to varying degrees). Under a democracy, where every man has the opportunity to attain this monopoly power of coercion, resistance tends to be less intensive. Oppression becomes more acceptable when you can simply vote the asshat out of office next go-round and take your revenge in the process.

The monopoly of coercion is the issue I target. A democracy tends to legitimize the monopoly in a way that monarchy rarely did. Thus I oppose democracy more than I oppose monarchy. It isn't that I argue for a return to the monarchical age. I simply emphasize that democracy is just as laughable as monarchy as a form of gov't.

Basically, in a Monarchy, power and influence tends to be laid in the hands of a single man. But the monopoly on coercion into his hands was, for much of history, resisted. Although, in the end, the monopoly was achieved by the monarchs a democratists argues that in order to equalize the social station of every man, in order to more appropriately ensure the liberty of individuals, the monopoly of coercion must be bestowed upon the aggregate people represented by a chosen few. This in no way addresses the concern for inequality nor does it address the infringement of liberty. For such a situation fails to account for the monopoly of coercion.

Well, it's a theory in the making at the moment. I'm still hashing out the methodology. Essentially, i applied the theory of private property to the institution of gov't, determined that Democracy, from such a theory, is thus revealed as uncivilized and unsustainable, and then I considered the ramifications of such an approach.
