Hi Ismail, Yes, I was in the MLP and used to consider Enver Hoxha to be an outstanding proletarian leader. The MLP broke from the influence of the Party of Labor of Albania in the early 1980's as their problems with nationalism became more clear to us (the PLA was calling Khomeini the leader of the Iranian revolution at a time when he was preparing to arrest and execute the real revolutionaries) and also as we better understood the problems with nationalism in what was called the Internation Marxist-Leninist Communist Movement. Since then my views have developed. I believe the problems go deeper than nationalism and are inseparable from wrong views of the nature of democracy when society is ruled by the working class. The working class, as a class, must rule. This means that the democratic rights of speech and organization must be fundamental--because without these rights, the working class will be unable to "fire" a party which has become incompetent, hypocritical or corrupt.

Out of curiosity, what do you think of the work of Enver Hoxha? If I recall correctly you used to be a MLPUSA cadre, and I've communicated via email with Joseph Green in the past.
