The Mexican government's authorization to grow transgenic corn in Mexico should be considered a crime of historical proportions. A bureaucrat's signature has done away with 10,000 years of collective labor. There is an unbridgeable chasm between what is at stake for those who made this decision and those who will suffer the consequences. ---- There's simply no argument that would justify dismissing the moratorium that was in place for the last 10 years preventing the growing of transgenic corn in Mexico. All of the factors that were considered when the moratorium was enacted are extant or have intensified.
