Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, as based mainly on the teachings of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, Iosef Stalin and Mao Zedong, is the highest qualitative stage of Marxism so far and is the guiding ideology of revolutionaries the world over who carry forward the fight for a world free of all class distinctions, all exploitative production relations, all oppressive social relations, and all corresponding, reactionary ideas - the communist world of the future. Basic Marxist-Leninist principles were implemented successfully, though with shortcomings, in the Soviet Union during the leadership of Lenin and Stalin, but it was the experience of socialist construction and the 'Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution' in the People's Republic of China under Mao however that heralded 'Mao Tse-Tung Thought' and later 'Maoism' as a new qualitative advancement of Marxism-Leninism. Key principles of Maoism include:
1. The people's war strategy, i.e. a strategy of mass-based guerilla war...

=Overview=
Marxism-Leninism is a general term that encompasses those who claim adherence to the line of Marx, Engels and Lenin in opposition to Trotskyism. The Great Soviet Encyclopedia defined it in the 1970's as "the scientific system of philosophical, economic, and sociopolitical views that constitutes the world outlook of the working class; the science of the cognition and revolutionary transformation of the world, the science of the laws of development of society, nature, and human thought, the science of the laws of the revolutionary working-class struggle for the overthrow of capitalism, and the science of laws of the constructive activity of the working people in building socialist and communist society."
Marxism-Leninism is the scientific revolutionary doctrine based around the works of Marx and Engels, developed by Lenin and put to practice by the October Revolution in 1917, it is as well characterized by the defense of Josef Stalin as a revolutionary figure who played...

A group for supporters of the line of Enver Hoxha, leader of Albania from 1944-1985 and defender of Marxism-Leninism against modern revisionism and reformism.
"There is nothing unknown about what socialism is, what it represents and what it brings about, how it is achieved and how socialist society is built. A theory and practice of scientific socialism exists. Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin teach us this theory. We find the practice of it in that rich experience of the construction of socialism in the Soviet Union in the time of Lenin and Stalin, and we find it today in Albania, where the new society is being built according to the teachings of Marxism-Leninism.
Of course, as Lenin said, socialism will look different and will have its own special features in different countries as a result of the differing socio-economic conditions, the way in which the revolution is carried out, the traditions, the international circumstances, etc. But the basic principles and the universal...

A discussion group for all progressive comrades on RevLeft, who firmly take the anthropocentric position against capitalism/the price system, religious superstition, bioconservatism in any of it's forms, neo-luddism, primitivism and any other attempts/tendencies to halt or regress development.
We are leftists of the variety that always puts the well being, pleasure and freedom of the human being in the center in a rational, socialistic, anthropocentric fashion and shuns technophobia as madness -- whether we otherwise identify as anarchists, marxists, or technocrats. A wish to combat reactionary forms of bioconservative or 'green' influence within the left is a uniting trait for the group.
We are a group of comrades who recognise human progress, material abundance and technological development, but also a society consisting of individuals with a healthy and rational mindset as essential requirements for the building of a truly equal, classless society. This means that group...

Many people are aware of the worldwide problem of environmental pollution and destruction. This is making the Earth become increasingly unstable and uninhabitable. Left unchecked, global warming and general ecological destruction will have catastrophic impacts on human, animal, and plant life.
For too many environmentalists however, green issues and politics are “neither left nor right” or “beyond politics”. But this is not true. Ecological destruction is not an accidental feature of the capitalist system. The insatiable need to increase profits cannot be reformed away as its system of production, for profit and not need, causes huge amounts of environmental destruction and needless waste.
On the other side, the left cannot ignore environmental issues or afford not to put enough emphasis on them as (1) a classless society does not automatically equate to an environmentally friendly one, although it does have the basis to create one (unlike a capitalist society) and (2) by the...

Impossibilism is a theory and strategy for bringing about socialism and an interpretation of Marxism that stresses the limited value of political, economic and social reforms within a capitalist economy. It argues that pursuing such reforms is counterproductive as they only strengthen support for the existing system and thereby work to ensure the continuation of the capitalist system, or at the least, impossibilism argues that such reforms are irrelevant to the realization of socialism and should not be a major concern for socialists.

Protracted People's War (for short People's War or PPW) is a communist military doctrine first theorized by Mao Tse-tung for mobilizing the masses and seizing state power. Contrasted with the several "insurrectionary" strategies which view the revolution as one defining moment, People's War doctrine takes a gradual approach of obtaining several military and political victories, establishing base areas, and, at every important conjuncture, accumulating those forces with the most advanced consciousness into communist ranks.
The three defining stages of development in the course of People's War are:
(1) Strategic defensive -- where communist fighters are mainly engaged in guerrilla warfare whereas state forces are on the offensive;
(2) Strategic equilibrium -- the People's Army can take state forces head on and on a more equal basis;
(3) Strategic offensive -- where the People's Army has the advantage and the state forces are on the defensive.
