Is anyone else tempted to set their user title to 'Stalinist' just to piss off the Left Communists and Anarchists who consistently bend the fabric of reality to properly align with their delusional, fallacious fantasies? It's getting harder to tell who promotes bourgeoisie propaganda more; the bourgeoisie elitists themselves, or the revisionists who subscribe to it.

Reflex, what is that a picture of? Like, where and what is it for? I see Russian in the background.

In cases where one rejects the necessary use of a vanguard party, I prefer the term "Anti-Socialist", which works well on Capitalists, too.

Isn't that a NazBol ("National Bolshevik") parade or something?

Its either a National Bolshevik parade or a Young "Stalinist" parade. its one of the 2 i know it.

I don't think this is a Nazbol parade. In the background you can see the flag of the USSR and the flag of the people in the foreground isn't a NB one. They either use their red/black nazi + hammer and sickle one or a nazi flag with a grenade insted of a swastika.

Thats AKM (Vanguard of Red Youth). Nobody calls themselves 'Stalinists', but considering that every communist in Russia is a Marxist-Leninist (save for a few, of course, but its otherwise rather unthinkable), and Trotskyists just don't exist (so much for it being a western phenomenon), and hell, 80% of people have a positive view on Stalin, there is much more cooperation between communists-- however so while this is certainly not Nazbols (who now use a black and white flag, same design as Rjevan already said, though), AKM still works together with them in the Left Front, together with some other smaller communist groups, because NazBols are considered left in Russia (eugh...but once again, the situation in Russia is much more different than the one in the West, and NazBols vary a lot between themselves, and no I don't approve of them- these 'Bolsheviks' just tend to like Stalin for the reasons the West hates Stalin, and you just don't see them say anything about Lenin or communism or anything (though once again, it varies). They are however, nationalists, plain and simple).

There is basically one major party (CPRF), a somewhat small but a very decent one (RCWP-RPC), and then the smaller ones (like youth groups) which basically work in this Left Front (not really a party), with all of these and anarchists basically taking part in the same demonstrations, because everybody knows who the main enemy is- Putin and United Russia.

Anyway, you should ask Soviet, he is in a different youth organization (the one of RCWP-RPC...or he is in the party itself, I don't remember), but he certainly knows more about these things than me, I haven't been in Russia for quite a while now.

This is kind of funny, I was wondering where those titles came from.

As for Russia, isn't it true that the NBP work with Kasparov's little group nowadays? You know, the one that the western media proclaim is going to lead the new velvet revolution in Russia? (more on that here: http://exile.ru/articles/detail.php?...hrase_id=15066) And what about the AKM?
  16. hugsandmarxism
I'm a recent addition to the Anti-Revisionist camp, and I was thinking "Huggable Stalinist" to go along with my name. Any thoughts?

    Yay! what made you change?

    About the Nazbols:

First of all, the fact that they took part in the whole Dissenters March (in which AKM took part aswell) doesn't mean they work with Kasparov, since nobody even cares about Kasparov. If anything, its common knowledge that the biggest opposition to Putin are the communists, and the other liberals are just what the 'West' would like to see, but they are completely irrelevant. They might be supported by the USA and some disgruntled oligarchs, or whatever, but thats all. Any serious 'liberal' opposition to Putin has been effectively crushed years ago, even if there are lots of them, just look at this, lol.

Then, Nazbols are known for doing lots of crazy shit. Here's an example, a few years ago some of them stormed the ministry of finance, just to be arrested minutes later:

They are extremely active (so to say...), however after their party was banned in '05 they now have a new strategy of trying to make themselves look a bit more respectable (a reason why they joined the Left Front, though in any publication they are mentioned separately from Left Front, in demonstrations etc.). They are an interesting phenomenon, as I know other Eastern European countries also have some groups just like them. Whether they are fascist/third-position, I can't really say (though its likely), but it would be very interesting to talk to one of them.

Thanks for the info. I know that Kasparov and other liberals are utterly irrelevant, that's why I referred to how funny it is that they are being hailed as the saviours of democracy here. I was wondering what the meaning of the participation of the AKM and NBP in this march was.

By the way, let me say how delighted I am that this group has become so large and active. When the groups were introduced to RevLeft, there were separate Hoxhaist and Maoist groups, and a "New Communist" group that didn't want to pin itself down to anti-revisionist M-L specifically, but also include the jumbled parts of the New Left. So it seemed pretty hopeless. But things are much better now.

Considering that the Anarchist and Trotskyist groups are the only serious competitors (some of the other bigger "Tendency" groups are really inane, while others are not necessarily opposing), we're doing a damn fine job. Clearly, there is a large enough target audience for an anti-revisionist group. Good show.

Edit: oh, and welcome to hugs&marxism, good to see more people joining in.

Hi hugs, nice to have you here.

Yes, thanks for the information Woland, I knew that Kasparov is without real chances but I didn't thought that he's just pushed up in the western media but that totally irrelevant in Russia.
I too think that the Nazbols are rather interesting, I also noticed that they are very active and seem to attract many youths with their provocative and vanguard image. As far as I understood they turned left after the hardcore fascists and their leader split and founded a second NBP but they still seem to have strong and worrying fascists leanings and people like this could also be seen at a NPD demonstration here:

And what about their leader, this Limonov guy? He seems totally insane to me, I think he doesn't know what he's exactly after and he just wants to see some riots because he thinks it's fun. I heard that he declared he'll run for presidency in 2012...what does he think he does? Is he really that megalomaniac to think he has at least a chance of 20% or is he on the ego-trip or what? I mean he can't really think that he'll win against Putin/Medvedev.

As you can see by the flags on the pic Reflex posted, these are members of the AKM, the youth organisation of the KPRF

No,the youth organisation of the CPRF is the Communist Youth Union of Russin Federation(CYU RF).AKM is separate organisation wich distances itself from CPRF,considering it opportunistic party.

In the article, Boris Kagarlitsky of the Institute for Globalization Studies describes the AKM as "[the] Russian equivalent of [the] Western Black Bloc . . . surrounded by the police and strictly controlled." But others have pointed to the picture of Stalin on their webpage and their obviously disciplined orientation as proof that the AKM, while it may be prone to direct action, cannot possibly be anarchist.

What about if we name ourselves under some lesser known of but stand up revolutionary.

Then everyone will be like what the fuck?

Maybe Jose Mariategui of Peru, or Georgi Dimitrov of Bulgaria, or Tim Buck of Canada, or Ernst Thalmann of Germany, or Poundmaker, or Norman Bethune, or Lois Riel, maybe William Z. Foste of the United States?

I mean theres so many committed revolutionaries that people don't hear about.

Maybe we should make an effort to make them much more known.

Eneas Cardoso, (a pseudo nazifascist brazilian), was 3 times a candidate for the presidency. He started with a 17 seconds obligatory electoral time (free) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIvy3i4UDcA), and got 360.000 votes due to his slogan (my name is eneas) and his rather comical outlook. He basically guerilla promoted this: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEby4srcegI) for 12 years, and became the king of comedy shows over here.
Then he was a candidate for the camara dos deputados (legislative power) for the state of sao paulo (most populous, richest, most conservative state in brazil) and won it with 1.5 million votes, mostly coming from people that thought it was funny to vote for him.

Perhaps this limonov guy is doing the same, and aiming for a lesser importance political placement and will use of the exposure he will probably get with running to the presidency as a long term strategy for that position. He sure as hell has got a suitable shock troop for the job.

The more you add to it and the more you divide it, the less of an impact the title has and the less presence we produce. If you're going to say 'Stalinist', just say it. Get the point across.
