Thanks for responding. I feel like I've been lied to by my teachers, they act as if they know anything there is to know but if I ask them a question that's not in the "script" they act in an aggressive manner, trying to hide their lack of knowledge. And I find it somewhat amusing that most people can not comprehend that specialists can be wrong. Hopefully future generation will understand this easier by learning from us.

As for learning, the educational system of the United Kingdom has failed me, along with the rest of my generation. I like to think I'm one of the lucky ones, who re-discovered a passion for learning that, tragically and for all too many people, is crushed out of them along with other facets of the precious jewel of youthful curiosity by educational systems designed not to raise the next generation of human beings to full-rounded maturity, or even to create model citizens - but educational systems designed merely to create obedient employees and enthusiastic consumers, servants and priests to the gods of growth in the name of profit.

As I've gotten older I've discovered that the more I learn, the less I know - the universe is huge, not just in sheer size, but in mind-boggling complexity also. There are vastly many more areas of human knowledge that I have barely dipped my fingertip into, let alone drunk and grokked in it's fullness. If you think you feel like some awe-struck primitive now, just you wait until you've learned so much about how little you actually know. This is why I get so short-tempered with those naive idiots who think specialisation of knowledge can be abandoned, yet at the same time think we can retain civilisation in doing so. We know far too much about far too little, and the cat of scientific methodology has been out of the bag for at least three centuries now.

I'll be honest with you on this - the "Renaissance Superman" thing is a bit of self-conscious promotion - I'm not under any delusions that I am some kind of world-shattering genius, although I find it amusing to play along with the idea.
-
Greetings, do you mind if I ask you for some advices concerning renaissance supermen?
How much time did it take you to understand all that you understand now?I only have one more year of high school and I feel like some primitive guy living in a cave impressed by the miracle of fire. Did you learn more after or before high school?

To be honest I've never really considered myself a role model, but I'm flattered that you do. Just be sure not to accept what I say purely on the basis that I said it.

Combining Science and Communism. You're a role model for me!
