My Admin Actions II

  • Rascolnikova is now known as Led Zeppelina to avoid further confusion between the two users.
  • Replaced all instances of "yeah" in STJ's posts with three paragraphs of lorem ipsum bringing his word to post count ratio up to standard.
  • In response to growing accusations of abuse of my powers and heavy handedness, all my bans imposed over the past month have been overturned. Reinstated members DOG MEN SEX and YOUTUBE PORN have been admitted to the CC by majority vote.
  • Set up a quarantine

Lump of Labour Fallacy and Lump of Labour Fallacy Fallacy

Pundits like to point out the fallacy of the lump of labour, that is assuming in general a fixed amount of stuff to be done. I found that when they claim they caught someone committing that fallacy, they are quite often wrong.

While it makes sense to say that in principle, in a long-run bird's-eye view, there is no reason to believe that humanity is running out of meaningful things to be done, this doesn't mean that ordinary people aren't constrained by things like involuntary unemployment,...
