Reform: Does it work?

Posted 20th September 2011 at 11:54 by Huey P. Newton1233

All the time you hear the word reform, like health care reform. But does it really work? In my mindset I see reform as a step to the revolution but that step is getting harder to reach. Reform is now the great roadblock to the ultimate revolution the enlightenment of the people. Your opinions?

A reform can work only so far as to slightly alter the existing Capitalist order. It cannot bring about a Socialist state, since it goes against the interests of the Bourgeoisie that are mostly in control of the State.
Should they see a reform too radical, they will do everything - and they can do a lot - to stop it. Either by corrupting the reformists or by directly stopping the reforms.

In a post-revolutionary society there will, of course, have to be reforms implemented to the current social order as that is the only way to advance toward our ultimate goal: Communism.
However, with the Bourgeoisie gone, and this society far more radical, we will be able to actually get something done.
